UNESCO Chair at EVA Berlin 2025

Following an invitation from the organisers of Electronic Visualisation and the Arts Berlin 2025 at EuroMed2024, Dr Marinos Ioannides, UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at Cyprus University of Technology, was delighted to present the work of the DHRLab at EVA Berlin 2025 12–14 March 2025, at the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institut, Berlin, Germany.

Under the title CH Digitally Formatted, Dr Ioannides set the tone for the day’s two specially convened sessions on Memory Twins, presenting a paper entitled Beyond Digital Twins: Introducing the Memory Twin for Cultural Heritage exploring the concept though the two Cypriot case studies, Fikardou Medieval Village and the iconic Lambousa fishing trawler, developed through the ERA Chair MNEMOSYNE and EUreka3D EU funded projects.

The two sessions saw colleagues from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany, and Italy present their research on enriching and exploring data sets to forge new memories and reinforce connections with cultural heritage and identity.
