The UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology is a the only existing Chair in the World in this particular domain and is acting as a Knowledge Hub to UNESCO and to the University and the CY Government. We are expanding our team to bring more creative, intuitive, and user-centered mobile applications to work in the area of Education, Science and Cultural Heritage Stakeholders. Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and very experienced App Developer to join the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications for both iOS and/or Android platforms (mobile smart devices). You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and back-end developers to create engaging, high-performing apps that meet user needs and innovative goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable code for mobile applications.
- Collaborate with teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in mobile app development (iOS and/or Android).
- Proven experience with Swift/Objective-C (for iOS) or Kotlin/Java (for Android) development or any other platforms.
- Familiarity with cross-platform tools like React Native or Flutter is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles and guidelines (Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, Google Material Design).
- Experience with RESTful APIs to connect apps to back-end services.
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture, security, and performance optimization.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Experience in submitting apps to the App Store/Google Play.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Firebase, AWS, etc.).
