Following the successful first part of the Afeh-Fikardou Pilot’s joint Summer School workshop on the 27th June 2024 the TExTOUR project Pilot 8 Afeh-Fikardou held the second part of the workshop Supporting Communities Through Digital Cultural Tourism on the 19th of September 2024 hosted by the Cyprus University of Technology’s DHRLab.
The programme of seven speakers presented topics surrounding national and EU digitisation efforts, local experiences from the two participants in the Pilot, and how these have enhanced opportunities for touristic activities in regions where tourism is underdeveloped. The speakers also examined the implications for responsible and sustainable tourism and the role digital technologies can play now and in the future.
