Cypriot Faience Amulet
Cypro-Archaic II (600-475 BC). Height 2.3cm, width 0.6cm, thickness 1cm
A small amulet depicting Hathor with a cow’s head, shown standing with the left leg advanced. Made of semi-lustrous light blue faience.
The amulet was excavated by the Swedish Cyprus Expedition in 1929 at Marion, from a chamber in Tomb 50. It has been part of the collection of the Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (Inv. No.: M. 050:016c) since 1931.
