The Limassol Coordinating Council of Cultural Bodies (the “Coordinating Council”) was founded in Limassol on the 8th of April 1992 as a group of cooperating Bodies and was registered as an Association under the Law on Associations and Foundations on the 23rd of August 1995.
The Coordinating Association is a non-profit cultural body with the main purpose of cultural upgrading and development of the city and district of Limassol. It represents 47 cultural institutions based in Limassol, such as theatre organisations, musical ensembles, dance groups, writers, visual artists and people of letters and arts in general.
The Coordinating Committee has an active role in society and often participates in studies and projects of the Limassol Municipality on an advisory level. It also participates in the Limassol Municipality’s Cultural Committee with the presence of two members of the Board of Directors. The main objective of this cooperation is to gain an active participation in the social and cultural life of Limassol, but also to contribute with his opinions and suggestions to the improvement and development of not only the activities, but also the cultural policy of the city.

Το Συντονιστικό Συμβούλιο Πολιτιστικών Φορέων Λεμεσού (το «Συντονιστικό») ιδρύθηκε στη Λεμεσό την 8η Απριλίου 1992 ως ομάδα συνεργαζομένων Φορέων και εγγράφηκε ως Σωματείο βάσει του Nόμου Περί Σωματείων και Ιδρυμάτων την 23η Αυγούστου 1995.
Το Συντονιστικό είναι πολιτιστικός φορέας μη κερδοσκοπικού χαρακτήρα με κύριο σκοπό την πολιτιστική αναβάθμιση και ανάπτυξη της πόλης και επαρχίας Λεμεσού. Εκπροσωπεί 47 πολιτιστικούς φορείς με έδρα την Λεμεσό, όπως θεατρικοί οργανισμοί, μουσικά σύνολα, ομάδες χορού, λογοτέχνες, εικαστικούς και γενικά ανθρώπους των γραμμάτων και των τεχνών.
Το Συντονιστικό έχει ένα ενεργό ρόλο στην κοινωνία και συχνά συμμετέχει σε μελέτες και προγράμματα του Δήμου Λεμεσού σε συμβουλευτικό επίπεδο. Επίσης συμμετέχει στην Πολιτιστική Επιτροπή του Δήμου Λεμεσού με την παρουσία δύο μελών του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου. Ο κύριος στόχος αυτής της συνεργασίας είναι να αποκτήσει μια ενεργό συμμετοχή στην κοινωνική και πολιτιστική ζωή της Λεμεσού αλλά και να συνεισφέρει με τις απόψεις και εισηγήσεις του στη βελτίωση και ανάπτυξη όχι μόνο των δραστηριοτήτων, αλλά και της πολιτιστικής πολιτικής της πόλης.
