Cypriot White Painted IV Earthenware Amphoriskos
Cypro-Archaic I (700-600 BC). Height 11.1cm.
An amphoriskos with a flat base, a cylindrical neck, and a splaying rim. Two horizontal handles are attached at the shoulder. Encircling lines run around the rim, neck, and belly, and the handles are painted black.
The bowl was excavated by the Swedish Cyprus Expedition in 1930 at Styili, from the Dromos cupboard of Tomb 13. It has been part of the collection of the Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (Inv. No.: St. 017, Dr. 003) since 1931.
