Cypriot White Shaved Earthenware Bottle
Late Cypriot II (1450-1200 BC). Height 17.2cm
A bottle with a pointed base and a spindle-shaped body. It has a concave neck, a pinched mouth, and a flat, raised handle running from the rim to the shoulder. Made of soft buff clay with a matte buff slip that has been shaved.
The bottle was excavated by the Swedish Cyprus Expedition in 1930 at Enkomi, from level 90 of a chamber in Tomb 11. It has been part of the collection of the Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (Inv. No.: E. 011:117) since 1930.
