Let Me Tell You a [Digital] Story …

Now in its fourth year the annual Digital Storytelling Festival presented by Europeana was held on the 21st-22nd May 2024. The two-day event with (over 1200 registrations!) saw a jam-packed schedule of panel sessions, workshops and presentations with contributions from EU members Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Greece and the Netherlands and from non-EU members in Australia, Norway, Turkey and the United Kingdom, highlighting the interest in and power of stories that bind us together as a global community.

Our very own Dr Marinos Ioannides, Director of the DHRLab at CUT and UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage, presented the case of The Lambousa Trawler showing how the stories of the past can inform conservation of cultural heritage and serve as springboard to discuss contemporary issues facing the world.

If you missed the opportunity to attend the event Europeana has put videos on their YouTube channel for both Day 1 and Day 2.
