The first eArchiving Initiative virtual training webinar will take place on Thursday, 27 April 2023, 10.00 – 11.30 CET and will be hosted by Dr Sven Schlarb of the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT).

This webinar will present a series of standards and recommendations offered by the European Commission™s eArchiving initiative, which define an Archival Information Package (AIP) that is designed to preserve the archival content with structural, descriptive, technical and preservation metadata.

Use cases will illustrate how eArchiving metadata can specify restrictions concerning software or human agents that want to manipulate the AIP (e.g., preservation actions). This includes a demonstration of how the changes can be versioned and documented and how the access conditions and agreements regarding DIP use can be made to persist as part of the AIP.

Practical information about the event will be provided after registration.
