Bilateral Agreement between the Cyprus University of Technology and the Municipality of Chandria

The Municipality of Chandria and the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) signed a bilateral agreement, enhancing their collaborative relationship and their mutual understanding, in the context of promoting culture, education, and research.

The Cyprus University of Technology and the Municipality of Chandria, following the proposal of the UNESCO Chair Holder in Digital Cultural Heritage, Dr Marinos Ioannides, agreed to expand their multi-level, scientific and educational, cooperation through this bilateral agreement, with the ultimate goal of digitizing and holisticaly documentating the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Municipality.

The Agreement was signed on Thursday, 1st of June 2023, between the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology, Professor Panayiotis Zaphiris and the representatives of the Chandria Municipality Council. The meeting was attended, on behalf of the Cyprus University of Technology, by the Director of the UNESCO Chair in Digital Cultural Heritage and coordinator of the collaboration, Dr. Marinos Ioannidis, and on behalf of the Chandria Municipality, by Harilaos Sokratous, President of the Chandria Municipality, by Savvas M. Athanasi, Vice President of the Municipality’s Council, by Soula Sokratous and Giannakis Kyprianou, memebers of the Municipality’s Council.
