On 8 September 2026, it was a great honor and a privilege to deliver a Keynote Presentation atInternational Conference on Conservation of Architectural Heritage at at Politecnico di Torino.
The keynote explored how Digital Cultural Heritage, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and Memory Twins can open new pathways for the documentation, understanding, conservation and sustainable management of our architectural heritage. A central message of the presentation was that a Digital Twin can represent the physical and geometric reality of a heritage asset, but heritage is much more than geometry.
Through the Memory Twin methodology, we can move from a purely digital representation towards a richer, scientifically grounded and dynamic knowledge environment that captures not only what a monument is, but also what it has experienced, what it means to people, and the memories, values, stories and identities associated with it.

The keynote also presented the importance of Holistic Heritage Building Information Management (HHBIM) as an essential component of a new generation of heritage conservation methodologies.
It was a privilege to exchange ideas with distinguished researchers, architects, conservators and heritage professionals at Politecnico di Torino, and to contribute to the continuing European dialogue on the future of architectural heritage conservation.
