Late Cypriot III (1200-1050 BC). Height 32.5cm. Diameter 7cm, diameter of base 7.5cm

A jar with a pear-shaped (piriform) body, a concave neck that narrows upward, and an out-curved rim. A raised handle runs from the rim to the shoulder. The vessel stands on a splaying base, and a ridge encircles the base of the neck. Made of hard brick-coloured clay with a light cream-buff slip.

The jar was excavated by the Swedish Cyprus Expedition in 1930 at Enkomi, on the floor of Tomb 16. It has been part of the collection of the Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (Inv. No.: E. 016:001) since 1930.
