On Sunday, 24 May 2026, the EUreka3D-XR project’s case study “A New Life for the Enkleistra of Saint Neophytos” received its first full public demonstration at the Monastery of Saint Neophytos, Tala, Cyprus.
With the full cooperation of the monastic community the EUreka3D-XR team from MIRALab Switzerland and The Digital Heritage Research Centre MNEMOSYNE, Cyprus produced two interactive digital installations taking high resolution 3D scans of the three interconnected caves of the Enkleistra and developing a digital representation of St. Neophytos based on historical research. Through the use of advanced technology visitors were able to directly interact with the avatar of the saint and hear his story of the life and times of the creation of the monument.
