Cypriot Limestone Sculpture
Cypro-Classical (475-325 BC). Length 9.5cm
A fragment of a sculpture showing part of a hand holding fruit. Only the tips of the fingers, with indicated nails, are preserved, while the thumb is missing. Made of white limestone.
The sculpture was excavated by the Swedish Cyprus Expedition in 1928 at Vouni, from the Palace, Room 129, from a deposit of sculptures. It has been part of the collection of the Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (Inv. No.: V. 492) since 1931.
