Οι διοργανωτές του Συνεδρίου Ψηφιακής Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς στον Αρχιεπίσκοπο
Συνάντηση με τους διοργανωτές του 6ου Πανελλήνιου Συνεδρίου Ψηφιακής Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς, είχε σήμερα στην Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Αθηνών, ο Μακαριώτατος Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αθηνών και πάσης Ελλάδος κ. Ιερώνυμος.
Η συνάντηση πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο της διεξαγωγής του Συνεδρίου, το οποίο φιλοξενείται στο “Σπίτι της Κύπρου” από τις 19 έως τις 22 Νοεμβρίου 2025, με τη συμμετοχή πλέον των 200 επιστημόνων από την Ελλάδα, την Κύπρο και το εξωτερικό.
Στη συνάντηση παρέστησαν και συμμετείχαν ο Θεοφιλέστατος Επίσκοπος Ταλαντίου κ. Θεολόγος, Διευθυντής του Ιδρύματος Ποιμαντικής Επιμορφώσεως της Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Αθηνών, ο Πανοσιολογιώτατος Αρχιμανδρίτης Καισάριος Χρόνης, Αρχειοφύλακας του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου και εκπρόσωπος της Α.Θ.Π. του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχου κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίου, ο Καθηγητής κ. Μαρίνος Ιωαννίδης, Διευθυντής της Έδρας UNESCO στην Ψηφιακή Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, ο Καθηγητής κ. Δημήτριος Δ. Βέργαδος του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς, κάτοχος της Έδρας UNESCO «Creative Cities in Motion» και Διευθυντής του Π.Μ.Σ. «Ψηφιακός Πολιτισμός, Έξυπνες Πόλεις, IoT και Προηγμένες Ψηφιακές Τεχνολογίες, ο κ. Ηλίας Νομπιλάκης, ερευνητής και συντηρητής λίθινων μνημείων και ο κ. Κωνσταντίνος Σκριάπας, Οικονομολόγος, Πρόεδρος του Πολιτιστικού Οργανισμού «Δίκτυο Περραιβία» και μέλος της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής των Συνεδρίων Ψηφιοποίησης.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης, οι διοργανωτές εξήραν το πολύτιμο έργο του Μακαριωτάτου και της Εκκλησίας στον τομέα της Ψηφιακής Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς, τονίζοντας παράλληλα, την επιστημονική του ιδιότητα ως Αρχαιολόγου και ερευνητή, μαθητή του Ορλάνδου, ενώ αναφέρθηκαν και στο πολυγραφότατο έργο του. Υπογράμμισαν δε, την ιδιαίτερη σημασία της επιστημονικής του προσέγγισης και της συμβολής του για την προστασία της Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς.
Ακολούθως, παρουσιάστηκαν τα πρώτα συμπεράσματα του Συνεδρίου και ακολούθησε εκτενής συζήτηση σχετικά με τη σημασία της ψηφιοποίησης των κειμηλίων της Ελληνορθόδοξης Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς και της ανάγκης συστηματικής τεκμηρίωσης των μνημείων και των πολιτιστικών θησαυρών της Εκκλησίας.
Το Συνέδριο, το οποίο έχει καταστεί θεσμός από το 2015, αναγνωρίζεται ως μία από τις πλέον καινοτόμες και ουσιαστικές επιστημονικές πρωτοβουλίες στον τομέα της Ψηφιοποίησης, της Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης και της προστασίας της Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς.
Με την ευλογία του Μακαριωτάτου, τέθηκαν οι βάσεις για στενή συνεργασία μεταξύ των διοργανωτών του Συνεδρίου και του Ιδρύματος Ποιμαντικής Επιμορφώσεως της Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Αθηνών, το οποίο θα λειτουργήσει ως ερευνητικός φορέας για την ψηφιακή τεκμηρίωση και διαφύλαξη της πολιτιστικής παρακαταθήκης της Εκκλησίας.

The Organisers of the Digital Cultural Heritage Conference at the Archbishop’s
His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, met with the organizers of the 6th Panhellenic Conference on Digital Cultural Heritage today at the Holy Archdiocese of Athens.
The meeting took place within the framework of the Conference, which is being hosted at the “House of Cyprus” from 19 to 22 November 2025, with the participation of more than 200 scientists from Greece, Cyprus and abroad.
The meeting was attended and participated by His Eminence Bishop of Talantiou, Mr. Theologos, Director of the Pastoral Training Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, His Eminence Archimandrite Kaisarios Chronis, Archivist of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and representative of the A.T.H. of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, Professor Mr. Marinos Ioannidis, Director of the UNESCO Chair in Digital Cultural Heritage of the Cyprus University of Technology, Professor Mr. Dimitrios D. Vergados of the University of Piraeus, holder of the UNESCO Chair “Creative Cities in Motion” and Director of the P.M.S. “Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies”, Mr. Elias Nompilakis, researcher and conservator of stone monuments and Mr. Konstantinos Skriapas, Economist, President of the Cultural Organization “Perraivia Network” and member of the Organizing Committee of the Digitization Conferences.
During the meeting, the organizers praised the valuable work of His Beatitude and the Church in the field of Digital Cultural Heritage, emphasizing at the same time his scientific capacity as an Archaeologist and researcher, a student of Orlando, while also referring to his prolific work. They also underlined the particular importance of his scientific approach and his contribution to the protection of Cultural Heritage.
Subsequently, the first conclusions of the Conference were presented and an extensive discussion followed regarding the importance of digitizing the relics of the Greek Orthodox Cultural Heritage and the need for systematic documentation of the monuments and cultural treasures of the Church.
The Conference, which has become an institution since 2015, is recognized as one of the most innovative and substantial scientific initiatives in the field of Digitization, Artificial Intelligence and the protection of Cultural Heritage.
With the blessing of His Beatitude, the foundations were laid for close cooperation between the organizers of the Conference and the Foundation for Pastoral Training of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, which will function as a research body for the digital documentation and preservation of the cultural heritage of the Church.
