Honoured to be able to visit H.E. Mr. Charis Moritsis, Ambassador of Cyprus in Riyadh, Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We had a fruitful discussion on common interests in cultural heritage documentation, and exchanged views on the impact of Cultural and Science Diplomacy in our region.
Prof. Marinos Ioannides was pleased to hand over a symbolic original replica from the largest Cypriot collection of artefacts currently under digitisation, housed in Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden – a small gesture representing a much larger commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations. Prof. Ioannides, the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage, was also able to share insights from his active participation at the Traditional Arts Conference, organised by The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the power of cultural exchange and collaboration.
Thank you for the insightful exchange and the spirit of collaboration.
