We were honoured to welcome the Commissioner for Environment Γραφείο Επιτρόπου Περιβάλλοντος και Ευημερίας των Ζώων , Mrs. Antonia Theodosiou, to Mnemosyne Research Centre!
We had the pleasure of hosting Mrs. Antonia Theodosiou Αντωνία Θεοδοσίου, for a highly productive discussion on some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Together, we explored the profound impact of climate change on cultural heritage and how the Digital Era can support the vital work of the Commissioner.
Through Earth observation technologies and digital monitoring of monuments and heritage sites, we can better assess risks, protect our invaluable heritage, and plan for long-term preservation. The discussion also underscored how both natural and human-made destruction have significant long-term effects on restoration, preservation, and protection efforts.
We are inspired by the possibilities that innovation and collaboration offer in safeguarding our cultural treasures for future generations.
We are looking forward to intensive cooperation in the area of remote Earth observation for cultural heritage and further exploring how climate change impacts our monuments and sites.
