KEMEDI is a non-profit organization based in London with branches on 4 continents, with the aim of promoting history and studying the evolution of the Greek communities of the Diaspora around the world. In the promotion of the aforementioned purposes, KEMEDI undertakes any activities through the AED and the publications under the name “Diaspora Publications”.
In particular, the following is sought:
- The creation of a body with the participation of organizations, associations and individuals of Hellenes abroad and the respective state services of Greece and Cyprus to find resources for the establishment of a Museum of the Greek Diaspora
- The discovery, collection and preservation of objects and others elements of historical or public interest and cultural importance related to the Greek Diaspora
- The promotion and conduct of research on issues related to the Hellenism of the Diaspora
- The organization of meetings, lectures, exhibitions, seminars and visits to the Museum of the Greek Diaspora.
Ελληνική Περιγραφή
Το ΚΕΜΕΔΙ είναι μή κερδοσκοπικός οργανισμός με έδρα το Λονδίνο και με παρακλάδια στις 4 ηπείρους, με σκοπό την προαγωγή της ιστορίας και τη μελέτη της εξέλιξης των Ελληνικών κοινοτήτων της Διασποράς σ ’όλο τον κόσμ. Στην προώθηση των προαναφερομένων σκοπών το ΚΕΜΕΔΙ αναλαμβάνει οποιεσδήποτε δραστηριότητες μέσω του ΑΕΔ και των εκδόσεων υπό την ονομασία “Εκδόσεις Διασποράς”.
Ειδικότερα επιδιώκεται:
- Η δημιουργία ενός σώματος με συμμετοχή οργανώσεων, σωματείων και ατόμων του απόδημου ελληνισμού και των αντίστοιχων κρατικών υπηρεσιών Ελλάδας και Κύπρου για την εξεύρεση πόρων με σκοπό την ίδρυση ενός Μουσείου Ελληνικής Διασποράς
- Η εξεύρεση, περισυλλογή και συντήρηση αντικειμένων και άλλων στοιχείων ιστορικού ή δημόσιου ενδιαφέροντος και πολιτιστικής σημασίας που σχετίζονται με την Ελληνική Διασπορά
- Η προώθηση και διεξαγωγή έρευνας σε θέματα που συνδέονται με τον ελληνισμό της Διασποράς
- Η διοργάνωση συναντήσεων, διαλέξεων, εκθέσεων, σεμιναρίων και επισκέψεων στο Μουσείο Ελληνικής Διασποράς.
