Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: ECTN Paphos 2023

We were thrilled to participate in the 16th ECTN conference with the main theme ‘Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: Cultural Heritage & Creativity, Digitalisation, Sustainability.’ We are pleased to announce that at the #European #culturaltourism Network event ECTN2023 Cyprus we were honored to receive two distinguished awards for our work in 3D for Digital Cultural Heritage documentation. A big thank you to everybody who has supported us in the past & now!

This event was a fantastic opportunity to delve into the latest trends in culture, heritage, and smart, sustainable tourism. The discussions revolved around innovation, creativity, and cultural tourism product development, with a strong emphasis on the pivotal roles of cultural heritage and digitalisation in shaping smart tourism and destinations. What made it even more special is that this conference was organized as part of the Pafos 2023 European Capital of Smart Tourism, the European Year of Skills 2023, the ReInHerit Horizon 2020 project, and the ‘Transition Pathway for Tourism‘ co-implementation by the European Commission DG GROW.

We had the privilege to present our work on advanced technologies for documenting the past, like 3D and XR technologies, and delve into case studies of holistic digital heritage in cultural tourism, such as the Saint Neophytos Monastery, the eFikardou platform and the holistic documentation of the Pafos Castle in Cyprus.

Let’s continue exploring the endless possibilities of smart and sustainable tourism together!
