We are proud to announce the publication of the HERITALISE project’s State-of-the-Art Review: Digitisation of Cultural Heritage – Methodologies, Technologies and Best Practices.
This landmark report presents the results of an international survey engaging over 1,200 professionals and institutions worldwide. It offers a comprehensive mapping of the current digitisation landscape and provides a global overview of how museums, archives, universities, and heritage organisations are engaging with digital tools to document and preserve both tangible and intangible heritage. It further highlights the key challenges and emerging opportunities shaping the future of cultural heritage.
The survey was conducted by the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology, in close collaboration with Heritage Malta, within the framework of Work Package 3: State of the Art in Data Acquisition in Cultural Heritage. These efforts provide valuable insights into current practices, emerging trends, and future directions in the field.
