WEBINAR: UNESCO Futures Dialogues
The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme have announced a new online seminar series of ‘Futures Dialogues’. With the participation of UNESCO Chairs, Futures Dialogues aim to identify, analyse and debate emerging issues, signals, and trends. They have a forward-looking, horizon-scanning and observatory function to support much-needed long-term futures thinking on matters relating to UNESCO’s mandate.
The first Futures Dialogue, Advancing Neurotechnology while Protecting the Human Brain: A UNESCO Global Ethical Framework, will take place on Wednesday 1 October 2025, (14:00 to 15:30, Paris time) in English and French.
This inaugural session is held at a pivotal moment as the first global Recommendation on the Ethics of Neurotechnology will be presented for adoption by UNESCO’s General Conference in November. With neurotechnology offering transformative medical advances while raising unprecedented ethical and human rights challenges, participants will reflect on the need for solid ethical governance of neurotechnology at the global level to ensure an ethical development and use of neurotechnology for the future.
