2nd Sino-Hellenic International Conference on Global Issues of Environment and Culture
Description of the event
To promote mutual interest in cultural and environmental issues on a global scale, the University of the Aegean, Greece and Henan University, China as part of a research and educational agreement held the 2nd jointly organized Sino-Hellenic Conference on Global issues of Environment and Culture. The event took place digitally with a remarkable Opening Ceremony organized with inaugurations from scientific organizers – organizing institutions, patronage and governmental officials, academics, ambassadors, and local authorities. The main themes of the conference included:
- Archaeology and archaeometry
- Cultural geography and geosciences
- New technologies and sustainability
- Society and environment
Involvement and mission
Kyriakos Efstathiou presented a talk titled “When ancient Pythian Games should be performed in the present era through the Antikythera Mechanism” showcasing the research findings from the Mnemosyne project, as well as the application containing the working 3D model of the Antikythera Mechanism that was developed.
Impact
The conference was held online and gave the opportunity to present and highlight the research work and results of the Mnemosyne project. Around 100 researchers took part in this event.
