CIDOC Online Conference 2020 – Mnemosyne Workshop
December 8 @ 2:00 pm – 5:15 pm UTC+1
The CIDOC Online Conference 2020 will address digital transformation in cultural heritage institutions. The use of digital technology, though marginal at first, has gradually reshaped documentation practices and transformed almost all aspects of museum work, sometimes even pushing institutions to deviate from traditional conceptions of what their roles should be.
Due to the Pandemic, the event will take place online from December 7 to 10, 2020. On this occasion, the DHRLab will organise a thematic workshop, named after one of the projects coordinated by the lab, the EU H2020 ERA Chair “Mnemosyne”. The workshop will be held on Tuesday 8, from 14.00 to 17.15 CET.
To register for the event (free of charge), please follow this link and fill the form.
The Mnemosyne Project workshop will aim to discuss and showcase state-of-the-art methods in digitally recording movable and immovable cultural heritage taking into account the recent advancements in the field. Six key speakers will present their original projects, ideas, vision and results relevant to topics covered by a holistic documentation approach. Topics will include data capture, modelling formats such as BIM, HBIM, HHBIM, data standards, -quality, -preservation, -standardizations, -management and use/re-use.
The workshop aims at bringing Digital Cultural Heritage researchers and practitioners together in order to discuss recent advances, challenges and future opportunities in the fields of data capture in relation to knowledge management and data management.
Both hardware and software innovations and methodological developments will be presented and discussed, balancing theoretical issues with practical demonstrations and discussions. The workshop will thus help to understand better the current issues and difficulties to identify new co-operations, solutions and future opportunities for meeting these challenges.
